We're Adam and Danielle, the two people behind Stay Good Training. Adam works directly with every dog we train, while Danielle manages operations and client relationships. Our own experience navigating training challenges with our dogs played a significant role in shaping our philosophy. Since completing Highland Canine Training Master program in 2024, Adam has continued developing his practice through hands-on experience and further education. Learning never stops, and neither does our responsibility to the dogs and families who trust us. We're a small, hands on business, and we intend to keep it that way. Every dog is an individual, every relationship is different, and we take the time to understand both. We aren't here for a one-time transaction. We're here to build lasting relationships and help owners develop the kind of connection with their dogs that makes them truly best friends.
Our approach is built around communication, engagement, and mutual respect. We don't just want to teach dogs what to do, we want to understand why they do what they do and develop a relationship where both dog and owner can navigate life together. Understanding a dog's motivations, instincts, and emotional states is essential to building a meaningful relationship.
Dogs have been selectively bred for generations to perform specific jobs, and those natural drives haven't disappeared simply because their lifestyles have changes. Through mental engagement, purposeful exercise, structured play, and opportunities to use those instincts, we can give dogs a more fulfilling life. Training should go beyond commands and compliance; it should create genuine engagement, trust, and cooperation while addressing unwanted behaviors rather than building a lifetime around avoiding them. Fear, reactivity, and aggression deserve to be understood and appropriately addressed, not simply managed on the surface. A dog's emotional state and mental welfare matters just as much as their physical wellbeing.
No living creature deserves a life defined by suppression, avoidance, and being unfulfilled.
